All of this earned him the rank of SWAT team captain which he handled rather well. Truly, he was a deserving kombatant of the attention he would accumulate. Once, he was decorated for single-handedly thwarting the terrorists in the famous Greenberg Tower Incident, and again for rescuing passengers of a speeding crosstown bus rigged to explode. Slowly, he began accumulating fame for his actions in police work. Whether it was terrorists or escaped convicts, the marine was dropping them and taking them down. The academy was pointless for this gun-wielding warrior. Thus, when he joined the police force upon the end of the war, he was accepted rather quickly. After 5 years in the service out of college, he proved his worth through becoming a staff sergeant in the marines. He wears a blue shirt and combat pants, combat boots along with it.Ī New Yorker by birth, Stryker found pride in his background and definitely showed it. If it is cold, he'll wear a NYPD jacket over his shirt. Kurtis loves to show off his police background, never to brag about it. Not afraid to tell a joke if the time is right, Stryker can be rather sarcastic or even demeaning to his partner in a playful form of teasing. When asked about the great feats he had done as a SWAT officer, he simply said "I was doing my job" Never the one to back down, his determination is what had made him such a great fighter in his early days.
